Shot at San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary, which experiences about 300 species of birds yearly plus (of course) these butterflies.
Description
The local area experienced a sudden migration of thousand of Painted Lady butterflies on their way north from Mexico, and I spent hours waiting for just the right light and composition. Fortunately this one lighted just long enough for me to grab this shot, I love the contrast and beauty of these visitors!
