MIllinocket Maine, Northern logging roads
On a typical cool mid summer morning in Northern Maine, I left my cabin before sunrise in search of the elusive Maine Moose. After several minutes of searching, I found this hungry growing bull feasting on the edge of a large pond. I slowly made my descent down to the pond as to not spook these usually skittish creatures. Fortunately for me, he was more concerned with filling his belly with the delicious aquatic vegetation than my mere presence. Once I was convinced he was comfortable with me, I slipped into the frigid cold waters to get the low perspective and angle I wanted for the shot. He didn't seem to mind as he continued eating while keeping an eye on me every couple of dips into the water. In fact he seemed so comfortable with my presence that he casually made his way towards me as he feasted on the ponds bounty. As he walked closer however, my comfort began to wain, so I slowly retreated back and out of the pond but not before capturing some of my best moose shots to date.
