Skyline Drive, Shenandoah Valley/Blue Ridge Mountains
While out looking for Black Bear in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, I accidentally happened across this content fella, snoozing midway up a tree. I quietly positioned myself to give myself the best angle for the shot while being careful not to awaken this slumbering bear. I loved how this sleeping bear was completely relaxed with its arms and legs hanging down, and with every rise and fall of its breath you could hear the gentle rumble of it snoring. After capturing the shots I wanted, I quietly retreated so as to not disturb its nap as I remembered the old adage, "best to let sleeping bears lie"
