Sauvie Island is about 12 miles west from Portland along highway 30. Take the well marked exit onto the island, crossing the Multnomah Channel bridge, then proceed to Rentenaar Road, the viewing spot for this image.

A flock of snow geese exploded into the sky from their temporary resting place on Sauvie Island, Oregon. The island is within the Columbia River system and part of the Pacific flyway for geese and other migratory bird species.
