Mama Riso's Restaurant, 2119 State Highway 9, Lake George, NY. West windows of restaurant on north side. Spiders might still be there.
As a 75-year-old photo enthusiast, I have found the equipment I have is good enough to get pretty nice outdoor photos. With a modern-enough camera and lens (as in this case), I rarely find a need to use my tripod.
My wife, grandson, and I were at a restaurant in Georgetown, NY on our way to Cooperstown. We watched this spider and another working on their webs. At the end of our meal, the lights outside the restaurant came on and caused this spider to actually glow in an amazing/eery way--depending on your perspective. I ran to the car and got my Nikon with Tamron lens. The spider was still there when I got back, perhaps digesting a meal. Took several shots at different settings. The specs on this shot were these: July 11, 2019 at 8:20 pm. Nikon D5200, Tamron 18-400 mm lens, set at 400. 1/30, f/6.3, IS0 3200. Camera was handheld.
