Every photographer has those moments that make their heart pound. This was mine. Each year, during calving season, the eagles arrive. While out photographing them, I came upon one in a field. I stepped out into the ditch to photograph it and quickly discovered there was this massive creature in the ditch further up the road. So I sat down, in the middle of the snow/rain mix, and the stream underneath me so I didn't disturb her. What followed was the most amazing moment I have ever had photographing wildlife. After 30 mins I was soaked from head to toe and I'm pretty sure I held my breathe the entire time but wow! She'd had her fill of the coyote, hopped up out of the ditch. She waited just a few moments longer before flying off to meet with her mate who had been out in the field waiting.
