Early spring 2019 in Moss Landing we had just finished watching a large raft of male sea otters in the area and we decided to walk down to where we had seen a snowy egret and a great egret fishing side by side. As we sat and watched a lone sea otter made his way to where we were. Spinning, diving and foraging in and around the pickleweed. We watched him and the egrets for a good hour. He was non-stop and once he had enough he spun his way into a great napping spot! If you hadn’t seen him go in you might have missed him. He gave me a look every so often, like don’t judge me its been a tough day! Moments like these are so refreshing and when I think about this moment in particular it always puts a smile on my face.
