The Emperor penguins have one of the strongest bonds between parent and chick. They undergo tremendous obstacles to reproduce and raise a chick, from harsh temperatures to deadly storms to near starvation for months on end to keep this chick warm. The bond is so strong that parents returning from the sea find their chick among thousands in the colony and have a special reunion. Tenderness and love is apparent in the way their beaks touch. It is all worth the arduous journey to Snow Hill Island, Antarctica.
