Byron Bay is on the north coast of Australia and is the most easterly point of our country.
Habitat loss and developments along with changes in weather patterns resulting in big storms. The end result is Tawny chicks being found on the ground and often it's impossible to reunite them with parents, although that is the aim. These six fledgling came to me as babies and I raised them, then fledged them successfully. It was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. Each one had a different personality and developed individually. They're in the bush now and coming up to a year old. They come to visit me sometimes, they don't want anything, they just call in to say hello, we're ok.
