Description
Snowy Owls occasionally migrate south into Washington state during the winter months. I had never seen a Snowy Owl before but heard that a few were being seen last winter on the Waterville plateau which was snow covered and looking like an arctic environment. I searched all day and was about to give up when I spotted one flying over a basalt outcropping in the late afternoon light. It was a magical moment which I will never forget.
