Alaska may be known for its sweeping vistas and large wildlife, but sometimes it's an intimate encounter that leaves a lasting impression. While leaving camp one morning, I crossed paths with a red fox mother and her cub on her way towards a small arctic lake. For one brief moment I was worth of her scrutiny and scorn. What a thrill to be in her world for that brief point in time.
