Description
This particular Burrowing Owl had three adorable babies that were about two weeks old. At that age, the parents are always on guard to protect the babies from predators and watching for insects and other prey as they are constantly begging for food. The adult owl found a perch in a newly planted oak tree that provided for both these needs. The Owl would fly out to chase away intruders and scan the field looking for insects. After watching the bird fly out several times to grab an insect to feed the babies, I was able to notice little indications for when it was going to dive.
