I-70 in Colorado to Idaho Springs. Follow directions about 45 minutes up to Mt. Evans.
Be prepared for a difficult road up the hill, sometimes icy, altitude over 14000 ft, and occasional powerful winds.
On my first trip to Mt. Evans, we arrived just after the rains had cleared. This Nanny goat braved the cliffs and the cold with her new kid as she sought the nutritious minerals at the top of the mountain. As she navigated the rocks she kept her watchful eye on her little one and the mountains of Colorado presented a beautiful backdrop. The morning light illuminated them from behind.
