Description
These animals are 50 feet long and weigh 40 tons, about the size of a bus. They may breach like this to build strength for the winter migration to Hawaii, where they breed. Calves breach more than adults. Here a group was bubble-net foraging, a remarkable tool that requires social organization. I shot a burst, handheld from a ship, and hoped for the best.
