The light was beautiful the morning I arrived at the edge of the Myakka River. I watched as a group of Black-necked Stilts foraged quietly in the shallow water toward my position. Two of them began their mating courtship and I was lucky enough to be able to capture the sequence at a low angle. My favorite part of the courtship is when the two birds walk-in-step together, nuzzling as they go. Watching them display such affection in locomotion was a beautiful moment to behold.
