The photo of the deer was only the third that I took with my first DSLR-- a Nikon D50. Primitive by so many of today's standards, that camera "did t he job" for me for many occasions after the deer experience. I wondered if seeing the camera where she would have seen a face allowed her the time for a bit of curiosity.
The photo of the Mule Deer was taken at 4:00 PM, just as light was dimming for the summer day. I had sat watching her feed on tall grass when she suddenly lifted her head and saw me. She remained still for a minute, framed by the Aspen trees, then turned tail to join the herd.
