A few hours drive from Medan
I used Nikon D750 with Nikon 24-70mm lens,1/250 sec at f/5.6,1100 ISO
I took this photo at the Gunung Leuser National Park in Sumatra, Indonesia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Orangutans are highly intelligent, peaceful animals and unfortunately critically endangered. After a few days in the rainforest with the assistance of a guide I became more used to see them not far away from me and this particular female became quite accustomed to my presence. I dared more than usual in this occasion shooting at a 24mm focal length. The majestic size of these animals combined with their human expressions and manners make them among the most beautiful creatures I ever photographed.
