North Coyote Buttes near the Wave

One reason I love the desert so much is that I always run into surprises whether it 's pleasant or not. It 's that surprise element that draws me in despite the natural settings can sometimes be unforgiving. This image is one prime example. My wife and I were hiking in the desert wilderness on our way to the Wave at North Coyote Buttes, and we stumbled upon these wildflowers in full blossom. It came as a pleasant surprise to us especially the sheer amount of them. They add another colorful layer to the foreground for my shot of the sandstones in the distance.
